The Burmese military has sealed off five monasteries to reduce the protests planned to go ahead again today (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7017496.stm). Ten people are known to have been killed by authorities during the peaceful demonstrations led by monks and some reports place the numbers of dead in the scores. Human rights activists here are pointing out how little the government is doing to put pressure on the Burmese government to cease its policy of violence (http://www.bangkokpost.com/News/28Sep2007_news01.php). They wonder why the Thai military junta does not condemn the Burmese military junta for not listening to the people.
